Pfizer, Inc. and its subsidiaries have announced the release of the United States Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of a generic version of sildenafil, the most commonly used erectile dysfunction drug in the world.
Sildenafil is the brand name for the medication Viagra, which is the brand name for the generic medication Viagra.
FDA approval of the generic version of sildenafil was made possible, as the drug is now available in the U. S. without a prescription.
“Viagra, as the name implies, is an innovative treatment for erectile dysfunction,” said John H. Kennedy, MD, FACOG, F. B. I., president and CEO of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. “This approval will provide men with the option of obtaining a generic Viagra that is identical to their branded brand.
